Coffee with Shakespeare by Stanley Wells

  • So you've always wanted to weave words with the great William Shakespeare? Well, now you can - by a miracle of time travel. Get to know this generous-spirited giant of stage. He'll make you fell more than just part of the scenery.

It began before ever I put pen to paper. I had to choose a subject and then develop a sense of what I wanted to do and what I wanted to see and hear on stage. Then I read - a great deal. It was crucial for me to take an original slant on a story and its characters. The longest process by far was the planning. A friend described it as like building a cathedral. I wouldn't go as far as that. He was more like a painter organizing a canvas so as to make best use of it.
